Regulations

Regulations are the details that support the guiding principles of legislation. Regulations may only exist pursuant to legislation.

A certain number of topics may be the subject of regulations pursuant to the Regulated Health Professions Act, 1991 (RHPA). Section 95 (1) of the RHPA provides:

Subject to the approval of the Lieutenant Governor in Council and with prior review by the Minister, the Council of the College of Chiropractors of Ontario may make regulations. CCO may enforce regulations through the professional misconduct regulation. There is significant public accountability because of the requirement for consultation and various levels of review at the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care.
